If the explosion-proof motor is to be temporarily placed, the motor or components should be lowered to the appropriate level of support. Do not use the lifting ring on the top cover and cooler to lift the whole motor. If the heavy coupling or other accessories make the lifting unbalanced, the sling should be added to prevent dumping; Large capacity explosion-proof motors are often equipped with rotor fixing devices to prevent the axial movement of the rotor. When handling the whole explosion-proof motor, the rotor fixing device must be installed, otherwise the fixed device may be damaged due to the axial movement of the rotor.
In addition, the explosion-proof motor should be stored in a clean and dry place and covered as far as possible. Cover the motor with a tarp to prevent dust on site, but plastic is not recommended. Measurement of insulation resistance every month or so to verify the effect of storage protection, obvious insulation resistance changes are usually caused by moisture, at this time should be considered to improve the storage conditions.
The shaft is usually equipped with a rotor fixing device to prevent the rotor from moving when handling the explosion-proof motor. This fixing device must be removed before the motor is energized or the shaft is turned. Moreover, when the motor is moved from storage to use, it must be reinstalled.
